Perfect Organization for Your Adventures: The Feldherr Organizer for Warhammer Quest: Darkwater
Jan 22, 2026
The Game That's Captivating the Community
Warhammer Quest: Darkwater is Games Workshop's newest dungeon-crawling sensation and has taken the tabletop community by storm since its release in December 2025. This cooperative board game takes 1-4 players into the corrupted halls of the Jade Abbey in the realm of Ghyran, where they play as brave heroes fighting against the daemonic servants of Nurgle, the Plague God.
What Makes Darkwater So Special?
Compared to its predecessors Blackstone Fortress and Cursed City, Darkwater has significantly streamlined and modernized the Warhammer Quest game system:
- Hex-based maps instead of tiles: The innovative map book with 20 double-sided hex maps enables lightning-fast game setup and a clean table presence
- Card-based action system: Instead of action dice, heroes now use action cards, enabling more tactical gameplay
- Compact campaign: The 3-act campaign can be played through in 10-14 hours and offers enormous replayability through randomized encounter decks
- Impressive miniatures: 49 push-fit miniatures with exceptional detail, including 7 heroes, 4 villain bosses, and 33 enemy miniatures
The Storage Problem
As fantastic as the game is – Games Workshop unfortunately didn't include an organizer for the box. With 49 miniatures, 341 cards, 61 tokens, dice, and a massive map book, storage quickly becomes a challenge. Reviewers report that while everything theoretically fits in the box, without proper organization, every game setup becomes a time-consuming puzzle.
Our Solution: The Feldherr Organizer for Darkwater
After the overwhelming success of our foam trays for Cursed City, we immediately started developing a custom-tailored solution for Darkwater. And we're pleased to announce: The release is coming soon!
Design Philosophy
Our Darkwater organizer was developed with three core goals:
1. Secure Storage
Each miniature gets its own perfectly fitted place in the foam. Whether it's Edmark Valoran, the mighty knight of Hammerhal, or the vile Mire Kelpies – all models are perfectly protected.
2. Lightning-Fast Setup
With our system, you can be game-ready within minutes. The removable token trays allow direct access to all game markers during play.
3. Clean Table Presence
The organizer fits perfectly into the original box. The quest book sits flush on the token trays and keeps everything securely in place – no overhang, no wobbly construction.
Special Features
Removable Token Trays
The specially designed plastic trays for tokens, markers, and dice can be placed directly next to the playing field. All components are immediately accessible without having to rummage through foam.
Card Organizer Included
All 341 cards in the game – from encounter cards to equipment to bonus cards – have their dedicated place. The original tuck boxes for unsleeved cards fit perfectly.
Completely Flush
Unlike other Warhammer Quest solutions, our Darkwater organizer is completely flush with the box. The lid closes without bulging or overhang – perfect for shelf storage.
Ready for the Future
As always, we're thinking ahead: the organizer offers additional space for possible future expansions.
The Community Response
Since our first teaser announcement on Reddit two weeks ago, the response has been overwhelming. With over 160 upvotes and numerous enthusiastic comments, the community is showing how much they're waiting for a professional storage solution.
We were particularly pleased by comments from players who already use our Cursed City foam trays: "Your Cursed City foam trays were amazing!" – this kind of feedback motivates us to deliver the best possible quality for Darkwater as well.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
When is the release date?
Current status: February 2026
Originally, we had planned 1-2 weeks after our first teaser, but to guarantee the highest possible quality, we've decided on a slightly longer development time. We want to ensure that every detail is perfect. The item is already visible in the shop (set number: 66680) but cannot be ordered yet. You can register for availability notification as soon as pre-orders start.
What components are included in the set?
The complete organizer set includes:
- Custom-fitted foam trays for all 49 miniatures
- Removable plastic trays for tokens and markers
- Storage solutions for all 341 game cards
- Dice compartments
- Everything fits perfectly into the original box
The plastic trays are included – no separate purchase necessary.
Do sleeved cards fit in the organizer?
The launch version is optimized for unsleeved cards so that the original tuck boxes can be used.
We're already working on a version for sleeved cards that will include separate 3D-printed card holders. This will be available as a follow-up after the unsleeved release. If you leave out the tuck boxes, sleeved cards might also fit in the first version – but this is not the primary design intention.
Does the quest book sit on the tokens or is there a lid?
The quest book sits directly on the token trays and keeps all components securely in place through its weight. It's perfectly flush with the box, without overhang. There is no separate lid – the design is deliberately space-saving so everything fits in the original box.
Do you ship to Canada / internationally?
Yes, definitely! We regularly ship to Canada and worldwide. All customs duties and fees are already included in our prices – there are no hidden additional costs on import.
USA shipping: No worries for our friends in the USA either – we take care of all customs duties and tariffs. The listed price plus shipping costs is the final price, with no nasty surprises at customs.
Is the organizer flush with the box or does it have overhang?
Completely flush! This was particularly important to us. Unlike some other Warhammer Quest solutions, the Darkwater organizer is designed so the lid closes perfectly without bulging. You can easily store the box on your shelf.
Are the tokens stored securely during transport?
Yes, the token trays are designed so that tokens lie securely in their compartments. The quest book presses down on the trays from above and prevents components from shifting. Perfect for transport to game nights or conventions.
Are there different colors for the plastic trays?
We're working on offering different color options. A community member requested green trays to match the box's color scheme – we definitely have that on our radar!
How long does production take after ordering?
Once pre-orders start, we'll communicate concrete delivery times. Based on our experience with Cursed City, we aim for fast production and shipping times without compromising on quality.
Can I store my built and painted miniatures in the box?
Absolutely! The organizer is designed so that all miniatures can be safely stored even after assembly and painting. The foam compartments offer enough space for the built models.
How will the community be informed about the launch?
We'll post a major update on Reddit, in our shop, and through our social media channels as soon as pre-orders are possible. Register in the shop for availability notification, so you won't miss anything.
The Anticipation Builds
The development of our Darkwater organizer is nearing completion, and we can't wait to present it to the community. Our goal from the beginning was to create a solution that does justice to the fantastic gameplay experience of Darkwater – while eliminating the frustration of unorganized storage.
Warhammer Quest: Darkwater is an outstanding game with streamlined mechanics, breathtaking miniatures, and an exciting campaign. With our organizer, it gets even better: faster setup, secure storage, and professional table presence.
Stay tuned for more updates – the release is approaching!
